David Banner Reschedules Chicago Rally Supporting Youth

Jackson, Mississippi Hip-Hop artist David Banner has announced that a planned community rally has been postponed due to safety issues related to the unanticipated number of people who will attend the event.
Banner’s Heal The Hood Foundation was to hold the Something’s Wrong Community Rally today (October 20 ) as a response to the growing violence amongst youth in Chicago’s streets.
According to Banner, the event was supposed to attract almost 700 people but demand to attend the event was so strong, that the rally was postponed to accommodate the swell of new people.
“This is a movement not to condemn kids or any organizations but the safety of the kids is my biggest concern, we want to stay on task and continue what we’ve started, we want everyone to have the opportunity to contribute,” Banner said in a statement.
Artists expected to participate in David Banner’s Something’s Wrong Community Rally include Twista, Malik Yusef, Naledge, Tiffany of Bad Girls Club and J-Niice of B-96.
The goal of the event is to develop solutions to the problem of youth and gang violence and how unity can be fostered throughout various neighborhoods in Chicago.

i watched you on the monique show and i beg to differ on your comment about youth violence here in chicago some of our children are out of control and it does’nt have any thing to do about education or no jobs some are just savage beast and let me tell you why on september 5th 2009 my then 14 year old son was shot in the face and left a quadrapalegic my son was not not a gang banger nor did he hang on the street corner he was about to enter his 1st year of highschool he was on the swim team he won’t be swimming now!his 17 year old sister had thrown a party for her girlfriend and mind you my son doesn’t party hard but my mom said it’ll be ok i’m right down stairs i’ll be going up checking on them the party was at my 25 year old daughters house who lives on the 1st floor well this party was extremely large nothing anyone expected well over 100 people so many my mom was scarred and went back down stairs i was at my own house with my youngest daughter and grandson to make a long story short me son had words with another 15 year old boy at the party and my girls asked him to leave that little bastard went outside and made a phone call and had more people come over i don’t know how my girls got outside but they did and got to fighting my son went to brake up the fight between the girls and somebody stole on my son he squared up with the guy and next 10 or so boys jumped him his friend try to help him but it was to many so he ran back to the house got my brother 30years old and my nephew 18 and his friend 18 and said they out there stompping lee they went to help my son by then it was 50 or more people out there fighting they almost killed my nephews friend my son and my brother managed to get his badly beaten ass in the hallway and went to help my nephew when the stepped out the door that punk shot my baby in the face they don’t even know him cause he don’t even be over there know you tell me what that got to do with school or no money?! 50 or more to 5 and my son didn’t even have a pencil to defend his self nor did my brother my nephew or his friend. they had tree branches and liquor bottles they had already one the fight and that PUNK AS S MOTHERFUCKER shot my baby in the face so what you got to tell my son? 2weeks later in a seperate incident my sister 40 years old was shot in the stomach and left parapalegic how ironic ! i live on the second floor of the building she owns and she on the 1st floor well guess what due to those incidents my family even though we are close is spread apart i can’t get my quadrapalegic son on the 2nd floor and my parapalegic sister can’t make it to the second floor. i’m living with my other sister and her 3 children in her subsidized apartment temporarily my 2 girls are living with my mom my sister has one stoop to get into her apartment that kid has turned my life upside down as well as my other family members both my son and sister are back in diapers and technically homeless and that kid is not in custody!!! any advice for me mr.banner?
