Nate Dogg’s Family Thanks Supporters, Cause of Death Revealed

Following Nate Dogg’s untimely death, those close to him are shedding light on what led to his sudden passing. According to his attorney Mark Geragos, the hip-hop crooner died at the age of 41 from complications from multiple strokes.

His manager Rod McGrew tells TMZ that Nate Dogg’s life came to an unexpected end despite the progress he had made from the dual strokes he suffered over the past few years.

The West Coast native was “95% recovered from the first stroke in 2007” when a second stroke struck in 2008, rendering him partially paralyzed and causing partial memory loss. Up until his death, he had “cognitively fully recovered,” meaning that he had become completely aware and got his memory back.

McGrew spoke on behalf of Nate Dogg’s family and thanked fans for the overwhelming support. “We appreciate the enormous outpouring of response from all over the world. We greatly appreciate that and thank everyone for their prayers and support,” read the statement. “We know that Nate will be hanging out with his good friends 2Pac and Biggie.”

Tru Life Sentenced To 10 Years

MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — Rapper Tru Life was offered a plea deal Wednesday on charges related to the fatal stabbing of a man outside a Murray Hill apartment building nearly two years ago.

The rapper, whose real name is Robert Rosado, was allegedly involved in the stabbing death of Christopher Guerrero, 20, during a fight in June 2009. A second man was hospitalized, also with stab wounds, after the alleged incident.

The plea deal offered by Assistant District Attorney Linda Ford involved a 10-year sentence for the 34-year-old rapper and 12 years for his brother, Marcus Rosado. Both brothers face second-degree murder, gang assault and assault charges. The deal would require them to waive the opportunity to appeal.

The alleged fight took place at at 330 East 26th St. on June 15, 2009. Investigators said the incident was an extension of a dispute outside Pacha nightclub, at 618 West 46th St., which occurred several hours earlier, around 4 a.m.

Robert Rosado’s lawyer, Alan Abramson, said he would discuss the plea deal with his client Wednesday afternoon. If the plea deal is not accepted, the brothers will go to trial on the first Monday in March.

The rapper appeared in court Wednesday with a crew cut and neatly-groomed beard, in a dark brown suit and tie. His wife was in the courtroom.

Tru Life signed with Jay Z’s label Roc-A-Fella in 2005, according to The New York Times. Roc-A-Fella has since released him from the label.

Raekwon Explains RZA Not Being Involved With “Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang”

Raekwon talks to XXL about the RZA’s absence on his upcoming ‘Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang’ LP.

A Wu-Tang Clan project without the RZA may sound absurd to many, but it isn’t too far from the truth. One of the Wu’s top lyrical assassins Raekwon recently told to XXL that the Abbot will not appear on his upcoming Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang LP, due out this March 8.

“RZA is not on the album,” he said. “Being that he’s so die hard Wu-Tang, anything that sounds like it’s going at Wu-Tang wasn’t really up his alley.” (XXLMag.com)

Raekwon explained that there isn’t any bad blood within the Clan, however. He says that the RZA’s absence on his album is largely due in part to conflicting schedule, as the RZA is currently wrapping up production on his debut as a film director The Man with the Iron Fists. He also said that a lot of the album came out of his displeasure with the Wu’s most recent LP as a group, 2007′s 8 Diagrams.

“I aint mad at him [though],” he explained. “He’s doing his movie thing right now, he’s happy with that, and for me I’m just gonna keep the legacy alive. I think I’m a skillful artist that understands how to do things, so it wasn’t really a headache to not have him [involved]. He did things for me on Cuban Linx II which I’m very grateful for, but I didn’t want to get him to start dealing with [Wu-Tang vs. Shaolin] because I knew that at the end of the day he wasn’t fond about it.” (XXLMag.com)

Lil Wayne Said To Be Completing “Carter IV” Recording This Week

Mack Maine says Weezy may finish Tha Carter IV this eveing, adding that he’s only a couple of songs away from being finished with the LP.

Lil Wayne supporters eager to hear Tha Carter IV can applaud as its completion is nearing. Mack Maine recently confirmed that the LP is a couple of songs short of being finished. The finalized version may come as soon as David Banner adds his touches, something that he’s done on previous Carter discs.

“I was in the studio all night workin’ on this Carter IV,” Maine recenty told XXL. “We pretty much finished, to be honest; we probably need about two more songs. We got David Banner coming in tonight, so hopefully he’ll come with somethin’. We try to make sure—he kind of makes every album. He made Tha Carter III, and made [We Are Young Money].”

After this, Maine noted that the album could be finished before the weekend hits, adding that Carter IV will show people Weezy’s “maturity.” To set this new “mature” LP up, Wayne teamed up with Hype Williams for a video that seems more like a “movie,” according to Maine.

“[Wayne] actually shot his first video with Hype Williams, which is big. We just finished a four-day video shoot, which is like a movie to me.”

The album is said to feature usual comrades as well as “surprise” guest appearances. While no official list of producers has been released, Maine acknowledged that Detail and Swizz Beatz will definitely make the album.

Diddy Sued For $1 Tillion For Knocking Down World Trade Center, Stealing Casino Chop

A woman is suing Diddy for a trillion dollars, accusing him of knocking down the towers with Rodney King’s help, date rape and more

Rap fans and rappers alike have been accusing Diddy of doing unscrupulous acts for years now, but no one has ever accused Mr. Combs of knocking down the World Trade Towers. Until now. According to documents obtained by Radaronline.com, Valerie Joyce Wilson Turks is suing Diddy to the tune of $1 trillion.

Among her claims are that Diddy, ex-girlfriend Kim Porter and Rodney King brought the towers down, then found her and knocked her children down as well. That take down put her on disability and her baby in a wheelchair. You read that correctly. From the document; “[Diddy] went through Kim Porter and Rodney King and knocked down the WTC and then they all came and knocked my children down. Set me up to be on disability and disabled my baby. he put my baby in a wheelchair.”

That may not be the worst part, she also said Diddy stole her casino chip in Mississippi. One that was worth “over a 100 zillion dollars.” Valerie, who also claims to have a child by Diddy, states “plus I won a lot of money at the casino in Mississippi and Sean P. Diddy Combs has my chip to my money. I heard he gave it to Gwen Allen to hold but she can not cash it in. I want my chip please help me. it’s well worth over 100 zillions of dollars, and my hospital keys. They put me and my baby in the hospital and broke my baby 2 legs and sexual assaulted my children and crushed us.”

She is seeking $900 billion dollars in child support, and an additional $100 billion dollars for “loss of income.”

Pepsi Brings Hip Hop Flavor To NFL Playoffs

The NBA and hip hop have a relationship like salt and pepper; now the NFL is looking to get into the action. With regular season over and one round of the playoffs complete, the NFL is rapidly heading to the North American mega-event known as the Super Bowl. And those betting on Super Bowl spreads and such just know that day as the national holiday in early February.
To hype up the playoff matchups, the NFL has linked up with a few big name rappers to produce some commercials previewing he games and more importantly, hyping the contests. Not that matchups between the New York Jets and New England Patriots need any more publicity.
Rappers Big Boi, Talib Kweli and B.o.B will spit some bars over some dramatic NFL videos. Big Boi tore it up on a Green Bay Packers-Philadelphia Eagles promo last weekend to the set
of background dancers. The Outkast member put up an altered verse of “General Patton” from his latest album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty, which was his first solo album
(released earlier in July). The “Pepsi Audible” commercials are being coordinated by – you guessed it – Pepsi to promote
their Pepsi Max product. The company will be back with a Super Bowl ad after a one-year hiatus. Some of the other NFL Films highlighted commercials will feature Kweli, B.o.B. and also Nick
Jarvis. Expect to see them around the two-minute warnings throughout each of the games but if you want to check them out ahead of time, visit NFL.com.
Interestingly enough, the NFL will be using a hip hop act for the Super Bowl halftime this year as the Black Eyed Peas have been selected to perform. It’s just another sign that the NFL is finally warming up to hip hop after a long hiatus since the Janet Jackson nipple slip back in 2004.

T.I. Speaks On The Release Of “No Mercy”

T.I.’s No Mercy In Stores Today!

So here it is…NO MERCY, the most honest and intimate installment of my life story as promised. Hope y’all enjoy it and it lives up to the very high standards I’ve set for myself or anyone who’s to be considered one of the best. I must admit it takes a lot to go through as much as I have and still keep the love in your heart and in your art. But at the end of the day, if that’s what it takes to produce the music that keeps the world of hip-hop evolving on it’s axis….Then even the lowest of the lows of my life was all worth it. Thanks again for your prayers, your time and attention. And remember….It does’nt matter how long it’ll be before the next time you see me. What matters is that I’ll be a better man before that time comes. The longer I sit, the smarter I get.

I’d like to give a vey special thank you to all the fans who’ve been writing me and lifting my spirits everyday. I read all of them. Although I would never be able to write you all back…I’d like to list as many of you individualy as i can and thank the others collectively. It’s a relief to know that there still are people who see a man with a life and not just another headline in the news. Most of you sound very concerned and optimistic at the same time about my situation. Let me assure you all that I am deffenitely keeping my head up. I don’t consider myself done by far. Also many of you are convinced as I am that God has a plan for me that he’s preparing me for. How do you tell God Almighty that all you wanna do is LIVE LIFE ??? What if all you wanna do is be a father to your kids, a husband to your wife, and son to your mother while providing insightful motivation through music and lending a helping hand when posible to those who need it most. Well guys…That’s the topic of discussion between me and the MOST HIGH at the moment. I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out. Who knows maybe you can look foward to hearing the dialogue between us set to music on the next album…which I’ll be announcing the official title to sooner than later. But until then, thanks again for all your understanding, love and support. Y’all take it light and be eazy.

– Love King.
