Rapper 50 Cent has commented on the latest chapter of his feud with Rick Ross.
Pictures of 50 Cent, Floyd Mayweather and Rick Ross’ ex girlfriend Tia Kemp hit the internet last week, featuring 50, Tia and her two children at Mayweather’s mansion in Las Vegas.

The photos featured 50 Cent and Floyd holding and posing with Rick Ross’ son, as well Tia’s older son DeAndre from a previous relationship.

Originally both men left family members out of their long standing feud, after 50 Cent removed a video of G-Unit members filming DJ Khaled’s mother as she dozed off at work in a Florida retail store.

In response, Rick Ross posted images of 50 Cent’s son Marquis with a monkey head on the Internet.

According to 50, this is where the battle crossed the line and justified the video featuring 50 and Mayweather with Rick Ross’ children.

“When you’re competing as an artist, there’s boundaries that I wouldn’t cross myself personally, until the other artist crosses those boundaries,” 50 Cent told Vibe. “It was a point where Rick had took my sons picture, he cut a picture of my son out and put him on top of a monkey. At that point, the parameters changed. Nothings off limits at the point.”

50 Cent, Floyd Mayweather and Rick Ross has been feuding ever since Ross name checked both man on his single “Mafia Music,” taken from his #1 album Deeper Than Rap.

According to 50 Cent, he was simply trying to show Rick Ross’ children a good time in Las Vegas and blamed the rapper for not having better communication with Tia and his family.

“That wasn’t mean to be a vicious event,” 50 Cent explained. “It was more like me wanting to actually get a chance to meet the kid. Tia told me she wanted to bring the boys out so we could actually talk in Florida. I was in Miami. Because my touring tour was so hectic, I wasn’t able to meet the baby at that point, so I had them bring him out to Las Vegas, [because] I felt like they would enjoy themselves and they did enjoy themselves. If Rick had more communications with his son’s mom and he helped out a little more, than he would be aware of those situations prior to them actually happening.”

At press time Rick Ross has yet to respond to the pictures and videos of 50 Cent holding his child at Floyd Mayweather’s mansion in Las Vegas.

50 Cent’s latest album Before I Self Destruct is in stores now.

Chris Brown has received “an extremely favorable” report from officials overseeing his probation, a Los Angeles judge said Thursday.

Judge Patricia M. Schnegg acknowledged that Brown has completed more than 100 hours of community labor so far, and seven domestic violence counseling sessions.

“We have a progress report and it’s extremely favorable,” Judge Schnegg said. “That’s excellent.”

Brown, 20, who attended the hearing, was sentenced in August to six months of community labor for his felony assault on Rihanna, 21.

That amounts to more than 1,400 hours of washing cars, removing graffiti and cleaning and maintaining grounds in his home state of Virginia.

He was also sentenced to five years probation, a year of domestic violence classes, and ordered not to contact Rihanna for the next five years. He has since publicly apologized for his actions.

Rihanna, who recently broke her silence about the Feb. 8 beating, told Diane Sawyer how she eventually broke things off with Brown, and how she feels about him today.

“Love doesn’t go away right away,” Rihanna said. “He didn’t accept that very well. Obviously he didn’t want us to be apart. But I had to make a decision for me.”

She added: “I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn.”

Another progress review for Brown is set for Feb. 18.

A new court battle has erupted over the infamous Hip-Hop label Death Row Records, which was once home to rap stars like Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and others.

Lara Lavi formed Wideawake-Death Row Ent. with the company that financed the purchase, New Solutions Financial Corp.

Wideawake-Death Row bought the old Death Row Records in bankruptcy court for $18 million dollars in 2008.

Lavi filed a new lawsuit on November 13 in New York Supreme Court, claiming that New Solutions is illegally diverting funds from the Hip-Hop label.

Lavi, who claims to be the sole CEO of Wideawake-Death Row LLC., accuses New Solutions Financials CEO Ronald Ovenden, of diverting company assets and engaging in “fraudulent, self-dealing actions.”

The lawsuit seeks to prevent Ovenden, New Solutions Financials managing director Robert Thompson and another company from doing business on behalf of the Gangsta rap label.

Lavi also seeks to recover all of the assets Ovenden and Thompson allegedly diverted in additional to “reasonable costs and reimbursements.”

Death Row was put up for sale after former owner Suge Knight defaulted on a $107 million dollar judgment awarded to Lydia Harris, who claimed she and her husband Michael “Harry-O” Harris financed the label.

The news comes as Death Row Records prepares to release a greatest hits collection on November 24, titled Ultimate Death Row Collection.

The album is a three-disc compilation featuring 60 tracks from the labels biggest artists.

Based on first day sales, 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct is projected to sell between 150,000 and 160,000 units in its first week.

The projection, courtesy of hitsdailydouble.com, prognosticates by far the lowest debut numbers for a 50 Cent album. The rapper’s previous three albums – Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2002), The Massacre (2004) and Curtis (2007) – debuted at 872,000, 1.15 million and 695,000 uniits sold, respectively.

The album was originally set for release on November 23, but was pushed up to November 16 because it leaked online last month.

Although 150,000 is a solid sales figure in the current industry climate, the number is dwarfed other similarly anticipated Hip Hop releases this year. Eminem’s Relapse sold over 600,000 its first week, and Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 moved over 475,000 units in its debut.

Interscope Records, the label on which the album was released, was reached for comment, but hasn’t responded.

Former Outlawz member Mutah “Napoleon” Beale will launch a new TV show in Britain to introduce people to Islam.

Napoleon TV will launch December 1 on Sky’s Up & Coming channel and will air across Europe and North Africa.

Beale will present a number of different celebrities being introduced to the Quran, segments on Fatwa’s and advice from accredited scholars, which will help Western Muslims in need of guidance.

“It seems like here in America the media is attacking Islam in every way possible, so I decided to use the media to give people an understanding about the true religion of Islam, which is whole and peaceful” Beale told Al Arabiya.

The name of the show, Napoleon TV is a nod to his former rap alias as a member of Tupac Shakur’s group The Outlawz.

Napoleon TV will also feature exclusive footage of Beale opening an orphanage in Gambia in partnership with UK charity, Muslim Global Relief.

The charity is personal for Beale, who was left an orphan after his parents were murdered in front of him during a botched robbery attempt.

His older brother Seike Beale committed suicide after the ordeal.

“I was an orphan and this is something I want to do because it is close to my heart,” Beale said. “I will not be making a single penny out of this all money raised will go towards helping orphaned children.”

As a member of The Outlawz, Napoleon was featured on a number of hit albums with Tupac Shakur, including Me Against the World, All Eyez On Me as well as Pac’s infamous diss track “Hit ‘Em Up.”

“People will get to see me going about my business while always striving to get closer to Allah,” Napoleon said.

Michael Jackson looks platinum-plausible after three weeks of the This Is It soundtrack, especially with Black Friday approaching. The collection includes Jackson hits like the Hip Hop favorite “Human Nature” various demo and single versions of other hits throughout the last three decades. The work fell two places to #4 from last week.

Jay-Z slid one place with Blueprint 3 in a week that saw seven charting debuts before him. With a new video to “Empire State Of Mind,” the Atlantic Records-distributed effort could beat out Black Eyed Peas and Eminem as 2009’s top-selling Rap album, although 50 Cent and Lil Wayne loom on the horizon, with releases. Jay’s wife, Beyonce, had a massive 50-plus place increase of I Am…Sasha Fierce. The album slipped back into the Top 40, due to touring and appearances, as well as her new Lady Gaga-assisted “Video Phone” video.

Speaking of, The Black Eyed Peas stayed around their usual #20 spot for The E.N.D. The Electro-Pop work may be a departure from even the group’s more recent two albums, but the Good Life-birthed outfit remains an underground Hip Hop success story.

Another Interscope artist, DMV emcee and DXnext alum, Wale debuted just units behind, with his Attention : Deficit. Signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management firm, and backed by Grammy, gold-selling producer Mark Ronson, Wale’s debut boasts appearances from Bun B, The Neptunes, Gucci Mane and Roc Nation tourmate J. Cole.

The biggest surprise on the charts last week Tech N9ne’s K.O.D. sold another 6,000 units, slipping just outside the Top 100. The Kansas City rapper, who has sold over one million records independently in the course of his career, has developed his Strange label extensively this year, signing Brotha Lynch Hung, and developing local talent, Krizz Kaliko and Big Scoob.

Just days before doubling his prison sentence over parole violation, Baton Rouge’s Lil Boosie continues to climb past the 100,000 mark with Superbad: The Return Of Boosie Badazz, just as he’s done with his previous Trill Entertainment releases.

Besides Wale, the only other Rap debut was Wyclef Jean’s retail mixtape with DJ Drama, Toussaint St. Jean: From The Hut, To The Projects, To The Mansion. Released through Sony Red, the incubator to Jean’s longtime Columbia contract, this work features Eve, Lil Kim and Timbaland. The retail release cleared just over 3,000 units, falling in at #171.

Gucci Mane spoke out for the first time Tuesday (November 17) since being sent back to jail last week. Through a statement sent to XXLMag.com, Gucci said he is prepared to face the music.

“I have accepted full responsibility for my actions, and I am ready to deal with what is in front of me right now,” Gucci’s statement read. “Thankfully, my label is still moving forward with my album release, so I will have plenty to look forward to when I get out. I am remaining positive and want my fans to know that I am grateful for their loyalty and continued support. I will get through this.”

Last week, Gucci was sentenced to 12 months in jail for a probation violation. He failed to serve hundreds of hours of community service and attend classes for anger management and drug and alcohol abuse. Gucci also disregarded court orders to obtain permission for his travel. His lawyer and the courts say the rapper will serve no more than six months. During his sentencing, Gucci faced two and a half years, but the judge was lenient.

“First of the year, he could be out,” Gucci’s lawyer Dwight L. Thomas explained to MTV News last week. “It all depends on his conduct and how he conducts himself while he’s there. We’re working on other avenues that might entitle him to be released early. If nothing happens at all, he’ll do six months. But if we’re able to do some of the things we’re exploring, we may get this thing down to two months.”

“You can’t hold down a man like Gucci for long,” Shawty Lo told Mixtape Daily about his friend’s sentence. “His situation is unfortunate, but he’ll be back on top in a few.”

Throughout 2009, Nas and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley have been tucked away in famed Los Angeles studios, recording their self-titled Distant Relatives album. Flowing along with the album’s potent union of Hip Hop and Reggae music and culture, the duo has joined National Geographic for a Distant Relatives event.

On December 12, Nas and Damian Marley will come together at National Geographic’s Grosvenor Auditorium in Washington DC to lead a discussion on the cultural links between the early days of Hip Hop and its Caribbean and African origins. The discussion will travel the journey from Africa through the slave trade to the American and Caribbean colonies, spawning both the dancehall parties of Jamaica and the park jams of The Bronx.

Key figures of this discussion will be present. Moderated by Sway Calloway, the Distant Relatives event will include DJ Kool Herc, Rakim, Daddy U-Roy, King Jammy, Jeff Chang and Moussa Lo and DJ Red Alert – in addition to Nas and Marley.

This event is significant because it features the often reclusive “Godfather” of Hip Hop: Jamaican-born DJ Kool Herc, who brought about the music elements of the culture to The Bronx as early as 1973. Kool Herc is paired with legendary Jamaican deejay Daddy U-Roy a rarely-credited Rap pioneer for his 1969 hit “Wake The Town,” recorded in the country the same year Herc moved to the States. Also speaking together for one of the first times in history classic Rap innovators DJ Red Alert and Rakim will share the stage, as both have incoporated elements of African and Reggae music to their careers. Red Alert and Rakim will be joined by Hip Hop author and scholar Jeff Chang. The panel is coordinated by Reggae deejay and VIBE magazine founding editor Rob Kenner, presently authoring a book on the links between Reggae and Hip Hop.

The event will be taped to be included in the expected 2010 Distant Relatives documentary film, due around the release of the highly-anticipated album.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online and at www.nglive.org and via telephone at (202) 857-7700, or in person at the National Geographic ticket office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Tickets purchased online can be picked up in the lobby prior to the event. The event is sponsored by VTech.

The event will also be streamed live at www.natgeomusic.net.
An official after party at neighboring nightclub Zanzibar will feature an open microphone, and early reports claim the nightcap not to be missed. Said event is free to event ticketholders.

Even with the rave reviews for his debut album Attention Deficit, Washington D.C. emcee Wale is still hungry to make a bigger impact on mainstream Hip-Hop

In a recent interview with honeymag.com, Wale explained that despite Attention Deficit being released on Interscope, his major label understood his success would be gradually built from the bottom up and not reflected in huge first week numbers.

“This is my biography. It’s honest. Raw emotion. It’s close to me,” Wale detailed. “That’s why part of me will be a little offended if it doesn’t get heard. I don’t want people to take lack of sales as me taking a hit. This is something different. My label is letting me put out an album with a single that released seven months ago. We’re not going for first week sales. We only shipping out 30,000 of them. We’re going for that grind. We’re showing people that you can build a fanbase the old fashioned way.”

Even with those appreciative words to his label, Wale is aware that all major labels require major returns. A considerable amount of mainstream albums are marketed to females, a reality the D.C. native believes has stifled creativity and caused that audience to miss out on his unique sound and perspective.

“I think people try too hard to market to females. They insult their intelligence. I feel like there are going to be a lot of females who miss out on some great music on my album just because I wasn’t a huge radio artist,” Wale added.

Although he’s received cosigns from superstar Jay-Z and collaborated with established veterans like Bun B, Wale still feels his mainstream acceptance has yet to reach the impact of his fellow freshman standouts Kid Cudi and Drake.

Still, he remains proud that he’s persevered without direct superstar assistance.

“I got work to do before I even catch up to Cudi and Drake. They’ve progressed a little bit quicker than I have,” he confessed. “I worked twice as hard because I wasn’t fortunate enough to be under a successful rapper to inherit some of their fan base. I had to work for it all and my city had to hold me down.”

As with many celebrities, fans have now begun to focus on Wale’s personal life. For the past several months, fans have speculated regarding his alleged relationship with Solange Knowles.

On the issue, the young emcee was surprisingly candid regarding his feelings for her.

“I do love her. We’re friends. She’s amazing. She’s a good person,” he reflected. “Any single mother contributing to society the way she does – I got a lot of love for them. She’s got to do a lot on her own and raise a young black man in this day and age so my hat goes off to her. She’s definitely an anomaly. And the way she can do that and manage to do the same things that I complain about having to do.”

Wale’s Attention Deficit is available in stores now.

Soon enough, the reality TV that your parents are wasting their time with might get a lot more interesting thanks to the hip-hop community. First, there was the proposed Three 6 Mafia cooking show that we were so excited about. Now, it’s been revealed that the mothers of superstars Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Ne-Yo are in talks to start their own talk show.

While little is known about the format or title for the show, Bossip is reporting that the three women are at work on a pilot episode. The show would feature the three women discussing everything “from disorderly conduct in the hip hop world, to domestic issues and hot topics.”

Since this project is still in it’s developmental phases, we’d like to add a suggestion to the producers: make T-Pain’s mom talk through Auto-Tune, please.

50 Cent’s Cheetah Vision Films company has inked a deal with a Georgia production company Action Jackson Films, to produce and finance 3-5 major films per year.

Variety reports that Cheetah Vision’s first project under a new deal with investor Richard Jackson is titled The Gun, which was written by 50 Cent himself.

50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, will star opposite Val Kilmer in The Gun, which will begin shooting next month in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Jesse Terro sitting in the director’s chair.

The Gun revolves around friends who are involved in the underground world of gun dealing.

The movie is the first of three features that 50 Cent has already penned.

“When you write a song, you need to say it in three minutes or it is overkill, but I like creating stories and going in depth with characters,” 50 Cent told Variety.

Cheetah Vision’s next project is the drama, Jekyll and Hyde featuring Forest Whitaker.

50 Cent recently made his directorial debut with Before I Self Destruct, a film that is included with the album of the same title, which was released today (November 17).

A number of New York rappers are gathering to pay tribute to slain rapper Mike Beck, who was shot and killed in Brooklyn in October during a robbery.

Music executive Littles and rapper Maino have organized the “Self Destruction” unity concert on November 23, to raise money for Beck’s 10-year-old son’s college fund.

Beck was a member of the rap group Kill All Rats (K.A.R.), a group affiliated with Fat Joe, appearing on his “300 Brolic” remix.

“The streets need guidance, the recession has dudes in hoods around America hungry. I’m fresh off a platinum plaque, All The Above just went platinum,” Maino told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “So as far as I’m concerned I made it out the ghetto, but Mike Beck’s passing has given me the fuel to take a few hours out of my day and give back to the lane that got me where I am. The streets. This event will help send Mike Beck’s son to college. We have to start looking out for one another.”

Rapper Hell Rell, Saigon, Uncle Murda, Grafh, Cadillac Tah, Maino and a number of others were tapped to perform at the event because of their street following.

Hot 97’s DJ Kay Slay and K. Foxx have been tapped to host the concert with Fuse TV radio personality Dee Vazquez at the Imperial Night Club in New York.

“I will do my best to see that the message gets out there to our youth about what has happened to Mike Beck and others alike around the world,” Littles added. “We have to come together in peace November 23rd and the message will start in the Hip-Hop community. I worked hard along with the rappers performing to get this concert together and also spread the message “Self Destruction” something that affects us all.”

Imperial is located at 17 West 18 Street. The show starts at 9:00 PM.

The product for Boot Camp Clik’s Triple Threat Box Set is in. A beautiful case, which features all three albums from Boot Camp Clik’s 2005, Triple Threat Summer, is bound to sell-out quickly.

The Triple Threat campaign was groundbreaking. It marked the beginning of Sean Price’s solo career with his debut release, “Monkey Barz.” Fans were introduced to the witty word play of Sean Price as he displayed ignorance at its finest.

The campaign was the first time that grammy-award winning producer 9th Wonder teamed up with Buckshot, for their project, “Chemistry.” The pairing of an MC & Producer from outside camps, which at the time was a novel idea, has since become a more popular trend.

The Triple Threat series also brought the return of Smif N Wessun, who reverted back to their original group name for their album, “Reloaded.”

Marc Ecko and the Ecko Unltd Mindlabs created album artwork for the projects, which were illustrated, comic-book-like covers. When combining all three album covers they created one unique image.

On November 24th, fans will have the opportunity to purhase a 3 CD box set containing The Triple Threat albums. This limited-edition item, although 3 CDs, will be available for the price of ONE CD. The Box Set Case has been strategically designed to provide a wrap-around feel of all three-album covers placed together to form one complete and consistent image (see product image attachment)
