i watched you on the monique show and i beg to differ on your comment about youth violence here in chicago some of our children are out of control and it does’nt have any thing to do about education or no jobs some are just savage beast and let me tell you why on september 5th 2009 my then 14 year old son was shot in the face and left a quadrapalegic my son was not not a gang banger nor did he hang on the street corner he was about to enter his 1st year of highschool he was on the swim team he won’t be swimming now!his 17 year old sister had thrown a party for her girlfriend and mind you my son doesn’t party hard but my mom said it’ll be ok i’m right down stairs i’ll be going up checking on them the party was at my 25 year old daughters house who lives on the 1st floor well this party was extremely large nothing anyone expected well over 100 people so many my mom was scarred and went back down stairs i was at my own house with my youngest daughter and grandson to make a long story short me son had words with another 15 year old boy at the party and my girls asked him to leave that little bastard went outside and made a phone call and had more people come over i don’t know how my girls got outside but they did and got to fighting my son went to brake up the fight between the girls and somebody stole on my son he squared up with the guy and next 10 or so boys jumped him his friend try to help him but it was to many so he ran back to the house got my brother 30years old and my nephew 18 and his friend 18 and said they out there stompping lee they went to help my son by then it was 50 or more people out there fighting they almost killed my nephews friend my son and my brother managed to get his badly beaten ass in the hallway and went to help my nephew when the stepped out the door that punk shot my baby in the face they don’t even know him cause he don’t even be over there know you tell me what that got to do with school or no money?! 50 or more to 5 and my son didn’t even have a pencil to defend his self nor did my brother my nephew or his friend. they had tree branches and liquor bottles they had already one the fight and that PUNK AS S MOTHERFUCKER shot my baby in the face so what you got to tell my son? 2weeks later in a seperate incident my sister 40 years old was shot in the stomach and left parapalegic how ironic ! i live on the second floor of the building she owns and she on the 1st floor well guess what due to those incidents my family even though we are close is spread apart i can’t get my quadrapalegic son on the 2nd floor and my parapalegic sister can’t make it to the second floor. i’m living with my other sister and her 3 children in her subsidized apartment temporarily my 2 girls are living with my mom my sister has one stoop to get into her apartment that kid has turned my life upside down as well as my other family members both my son and sister are back in diapers and technically homeless and that kid is not in custody!!! any advice for me mr.banner?

I was there & Hannibal was killin it thru the whole show! I’ve been seein articles and posts blastin Hannibal based on a biased edited vid that Red Bull posted on YouTube. To all those people (especially the ones who werent there!) I want to comment that the crowd was jus as crazy over Hannibal as Frank Dukes at the end! In fact, Hannibal was the ONLY ONE who got that consistent response from the crowd! They jus went crazy over that last beat u saw in the vid cuz Frank finally hit us wit something hard and finally displayed some swag (versus lookin all timid the rest of the night) by steppin out to the front of the stage! Not to hate on Frank cuz I’m from Detroit too but all his ish sounded the same thru the whole battle! The only beat he came wit that was fiyah was the one at the end! People can criticize Hannibal’s “antics” if they want to but dont hate cuz he is an entertainer as much as he is an incredible producer! There were several points in the battle when the crowds energy was dead and Hannibal’s presence brought it back up every single time he played a new track! He was CONSISTENT and he was versatile and he displayed tru musicianship and is clearly the most creative one of them all! Mask or no mask, he was KILLIN these dudes 4real! People that were there could see that, so pls dont hate based on a clearly over-edited video intended to show that “real hip-hop” aint dead by hyping up a dude jus becuz he continuously reuses the same typical hip-hop loops in all his tracks! Hip-Hop is a multi-faceted movement across the world, so why are u people limiting its scope? Why cant a dude like Hannibal be a great hip-hop producer just because his tracks actually have dynamic multi-layered instruments, build-ups, bridges and break downs? Jus like Hannibal’s fans were accused of favoring him bcuz of his showmanship and not his beats, I contend that those that are accusing him of not having talent are judging him unfairly just because he actually has PERSONALITY (whether u cared for it or not)! You are the ones who have totally disregarded the tru measure of a talented producer (which btw is far more than a just a beat-maker)!
