Alex Duncan claimed Busta Rhymes, born Trevor Nelson and an unnamed bodyguard sprayed water on him, punched and beat him during a rap concert at SUNY Albany.

According to the New York Post, during court proceedings, Duncan claimed that he suffered psychological damages and has nightmares because of the attack.

“I wanted something to come out of it. I don’t even go to parties anymore, because there’s always someone asking, ‘What happened to that Busta Rhymes case, ” Duncan testified in court.

Robert Kalina, Busta Rhymes’ lawyer for the trial, was not in court for the trial or damage hearings.

The first single from Kay Slay’s new album is titled “Blockstars” and features Plies, Jim Jones, Busta Rhymes & Ray J.

A second single titled “Thug Luv” featuring Maino, Papoose, Red Café and Ray J. is currently being planned as well.

New York rapper Busta Rhymes recently went on the air to talk about almost getting denied access into England last week, where he was scheduled to headline a benefit concert.

As previously reported by MOP, authorities held the emcee upon arriving at London City Airport last Thursday (September 25) on account of his past criminal record. Busta was traveling to the country to perform at an Orange RockCorps concert the next day, but was detained for nearly 12 hours before being allowed to hit the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

During an interview with BBC radio’s 1Xtra, the iconic emcee said he had no harsh feelings towards immigration officials.

“Ultimately I don’t take it personally because I know they didn’t know me and I didn’t know them,” Busta said.

In fact the rapper enjoyed his time spent being detained.

“The people I had to deal with personally at immigration, they were extremely friendly, loving and supportive,” he added. “We actually had fun in there, we were watching TV, we were taking pictures, we were signing autographs and telling stories.”

Busta was later released and granted permission to perform two hours prior to the show’s start. Other performers included Ludacris – who Busta recruited at the last minute just in case – John Legend, The Automatic, Guillemots, Lethal Bizzle and Feeder. The concert was held for 5,000 fans for their volunteer work in the community.

After being detained at the London City Airport by immigration officials all morning, New York rapper Busta Rhymes has been granted permission to enter Great Britain.

According to TMZ, a local British court has ruled that the hip-hop star is allowed into the country, where he is scheduled to perform at an Orange RockCorps charity concert tomorrow (September 26). Although Busta has been to the UK twice during the last year, he was initially denied access because of his past criminal record.

Despite Busta’s lawyer, Philip Trott, offering various forms of paperwork justifying the rapper’s entrance, he was still denied by immigration authorities, who arranged to fly him to Amsterdam.

Once news broke about his detainment, High Court Judge Justice Flaux immediately granted an injunction to prevent the flight.

While organizers were urging officials to re-consider and allow Busta’s legal entrance into the country, the rapper’s idea to bring in Atlanta rap giant Ludacris was immediately set up.

While it is unclear if Luda will still be playing, Busta is set to perform alongside John Legend, The Automatic, Guillemots, Lethal Bizzle and Feeder at tomorrow’s show held at the Royal Albert Hall. The concert is held for 5,000 volunteers for their charity work.

Hip-Hop superstar Busta Rhymes will help to kick-off the release of Madden ’09 this evening in California with a free performance to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Flipmode leader will perform alongside other entertainers who have contributed songs on the classic John Madden collection including multi-platinum selling rock band Good Charlotte.

Being dubbed “Maddenpalooza,” the celebration will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California with free admission for an anticipated 6,000 plus audience.

Unlike other video game sports franchises, the Madden series has sold more than 70 million copies since it’s debut in 1989.

“In the video game industry, if you sell a million copies, you throw a ticker-tape parade,” Game Informer editor Matthew Kato told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “If you’re selling five to six million copies of the same title every year, you’ve just won the Super Bowl, World Series and Stanley Cup combined.”

Also expected to help celebrate and sign autographs this evening include NFL legends Andre Reed, Roger Craig and Tim Brown.

Madden ’09 officially hits all retail stores tomorrow (August 11).

A man has been arrested in relation to the death of Ingrid Rivera, a Queens woman slain at the birthday party of Lil’ Kim over the weekend.

Sunday night, at a New York karaoke club called Spotlight Live, hordes of people came out to celebrate the 33rd birthday of the rap star. Celebs in the building included Missy Elliott, Wyclef Jean, and Busta Rhymes.

Twenty-four-year-old Rivera, a British Airways ticket agent at John F. Kennedy International airport, was excited to see Kim. She gave the pint-sized emcee flowers. Later, Rivera downed too many drinks, and was kicked out the venue after stumbling into the men’s room. Before the night was over, she was found dead on the roof, bludgeoned by a pipe.

According to Newsday, investigators found Rivera drugged to an electrical room atop the Times Square venue, blood-smeared with her dressed hiked up. Though no weapon was found, 24-year-old Sayed Rahman, a 5-foot-6, 130-pound club worker who shares an apartment with his parents in Harlem, confessed to the murder.

According to police, Rahman found Rivera after she had been kicked out the party, and offered to sneak her back in. The two allegedly got into an argument, after Rahman made sexual advances at the victim, and she resisted, Newsday reports.

Rahman left work two hours early that night, and slept in Central Park before crashing at a friend’s spot. On August 6, a maintenance worker discovered Rivera— who had died from blunt force trauma to the back of her head—around 5: 30 p.m. On August 7, detectives were waiting for Rahman, at his home where he was arrested.

Charges have yet to be filed.

“Lil’ Kim mourns the death of Ms. Rivera,” the rapper’s spokesman, Ronn Torossian, said. “She knew nothing of this incident until she heard media reports.”

According to inside sources at Interscope Records, Busta Rhymes was allegedly recently dropped from the label. Our sources indicate that the dropping of Busta Rhymes comes just days after he had a heated argument and phone conversation over his tracks with Interscope Records President, Jimmy Iovine.
