Music On Play – We Global Now – VICTORY

Activision’s DJ Hero will be expanding its music catalog soon with a new track pack from Hip Hop’s two biggest artists.

On March 18, Xbox 360 players will be able to purchase and download the “Jay-Z vs. Eminem Mix Pack” for $8, which features mash-ups of “Shake That/Show Me What You Got,” “Without Me/Encore,” and “Lose Yourself/Can I Get A…” Owners of DJ Hero for PlayStation 3 and Wii will be able to download these same mixes a week later on March 25.

Both Eminem and Jay-Z were featured on the DJ Hero’s special Renegade Edition pack. Currently, DJ Hero players can remix Jay-Z’s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” and Eminem’s “My Name Is.”

When Jay-Z released “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” on last year’s Blueprint 3, T-Pain was offended. Although he didn’t immediately react in a negative way, he later insulted Jay-Z during a show in Las Vegas. Jay-Z has backed out of a deal with the Aqueduct Entertainment Group to invest in the Aqueduct racino it was revealed yesterday (March 9 ).

According to Crain’s, Jay-Z had an estimated 2% interest in AEG through an entity he has ownership in named Gain Global Investments Network.

The racino project has generated a great deal of controversy because the losing bidders claim New York Gov. David Paterson awarded AEG the group due to his personal relationship with the investors. Read more…

Jeezy came out about 45 minutes into Jay-Z’s set to perform “Real as It Gets.” Hov then turned the reins over to Jeezy, who threw out a few of his street-approved rhymes, like his verse on Shawty Lo’s “Dey Know.” Jeezy told the crowd that his friend Lil Wayne was supposed to go to jail that day, but a courthouse fire delayed his sentencing on weapons charges once again. Jeezy said he wanted to bring someone out to dedicate a record to him. Nicki Minaj then came out and did her verse from “Bedrock.”

After the song, Jeezy told Nicki to stay, and the beat for “I’m Goin’ In” came on. Lil Wayne then emerged from the mini-stage where Jay’s Roc Boys band was playing and jumped on the main stage with Jeezy. The concertgoers — who were already on their feet — gave the New Orleans native a phenomenal response. Wayne’s face lit up as he rapped his verse.

Jay-Z, Russell Simmons and The Reverend Floyd Flake are expected to be the first of a dozen people who will be subpoenaed today (March 2) as part of a federal investigation into the Aqueduct Racetrack.

Jay-Z and Rev. Flake’s relationship are being scrutinized by critics due to their connections to Gov. Paterson. Read more…

Bun B gives all the credit to Jay-Z for their onstage tribute to Pimp C earlier this week in Houston. During a stop of the Blueprint 3 Tour in H-Town, Bun joined Jigga for “Big Pimpin’,” and the two let the crowd recite the late Pimp C’s rhymes.

“It was Jay’s tribute,” said Bun, who was in NYC on Wednesday night filming the video for French Montana’s “Bad Habits.” “I don’t want anybody to get it twisted. Jay-Z was a very good friend of mine and Pimp C. He makes sure every time he comes to Houston, it’s a big thing, and we can really give it up to Pimp.
